- Stormcloud might be a reference to Storm from X-Men.
- She might also be a reference to Static from DC’s Static Shock series.
- They share the nickname “Sparky” and both wear a similar long coat costume.
- Her "Thunderbolts of Justice" might be a reference to the Greek god Zeus, as thunderbolts are his trademark weapon with which he often struck mortals who did something unfair or insulted him.
