Sibuna is a backwards reference to Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife.
- Sibuna's name is "Anubis" spelled backwards.
- Sibuna is the "herald of creation and life", whereas Anubis is the god of the dead.
- Anubis is often depicted with the head of a jackal, whilst Sibuna is a cat.
- Sibuna's line, "No need to bow to me," plays up the contrast with Anubis, an object of frequent worship.
