- Selene might be a reference to Selene and Artemis from classical mythology: Selene is the goddess of the moon and was often identified with Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.
- Selene might also be a reference to the character of the same name in the film series Underworld, who is sometimes depicted with bright light blue eyes.
- According to an official post on PocApp Studios' social media, Selene is a snow leopard.[1]
- The developaws later clarified that Selene is "not exactly a snow leopard" because she's "a magical snow leopard".[2]
- Selene's first appearance in an event story came in the Halloween 2020 Quest, in which she helps hunt down the manticore Xerxes.
- Selene is a participant in Ember, Catania's version of the dating app Tinder that has appeared in the game during Valentine Events since 2021; her profile reads as follows: If you can imagine yourself wandering snowy mountains for a week to find the highest peak, taking in the beautiful, peaceful view, you may be the one.
