Romeo is partly based on the male lead in the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet.
- One of his lines mentions a balcony, a reference to perhaps the play's most famous scene, wherein Romeo and Juliet first declare their love for each other.
- His Hero Book description states that he dreams of being an actor, which could also connect to the play.
- As a Dynamic Duo cat, Romeo is paired with Juliet, Castle Cats' counterpart to the female lead in the play.
Romeo and Juliet are usually together when they appear in event stories and were the main characters in the Valentines 2018 Quest.
- While not explicitly acknowledged in-game, it is widely believed that Julio is the couple's son, as his name is a blending of theirs.
Romeo might be an American Shorthair.
