• Navi is a confirmed reference to Aang, the main character of the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  • His markings are reminiscent of Aang's tattoos.
  • His smile at Rank 2 is similar to the face Aang makes when trying to be cute.
  • His line about cabbage is an inside joke among the fandom involving a cabbage seller whose produce is always destroyed, prompting him to shout, "MY CABBAGES".
  • Navi's line about being an elementalist probably reflects Aang's ability to use all four elements.
  • Yangnyan and Yarngirl are other Castle Cats heroes who appear to be references to the series.
• The developaws might be having a bit of fun with Navi's name, as it likely also comes from an Avatar, but a different one: James Cameron's 2009 film Avatar, which features an indigenous people known as the Na'vi.
