- Julio could be based on the character Tulio in the 2000 DreamWorks animated feature The Road to El Dorado.
- They have similar names and outfit color schemes.
- Tulio is a thief, and Julio hatches from the Thieving Egg.
- Julio's Hero Book entry could be a reference to the film's plotline, in which the main characters are pretending to be gods.
- If Purrcilla was involved in the making of this cat, he might be a combination of Romeo and Juliet.
- Julio's name seems to be a combined version of theirs.
- Julio's fur pattern seems to be a combined version of theirs.
- He also has a hood, much like the one Romeo wears.
- All of the Alchemy cats introduced in the Valentine Event 2017—Purrcis, Oakenbeard and Gruna Barkle—are combinations of other cats.
- Contrary to popular belief, Julio is not a kitten[1][2], but is just smaller than most other cats, like Pete and Snowball.
- Julio's name means July in Spanish.
