Howard is one of three fully evolved Mythic Heroes that can be chosen by new players as their "First Mythic" in return for watching a short ad.
Howard was a Timewalker for 300 gems on September 2, 2019, and on September 16, 2020.

Trivia[]
- Howard is a confirmed reference to Cthulhu, a fictional being from the works of Howard P. Lovecraft.[1]
- This is indicated by the squidlike features he gains at Rank 2, as well as his original name, Cathulhu, before it was changed in an update.
- His current name is the same as the author's, and he has the Crafty skill, as in Lovecraft.
- His line, "Always fear the unknown," looks like a reference to a quote by Lovecraft: "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown."
- Howard's line, "Hastur cf'tagn", is in the R'lyehian (AKA Cthuvian) language that Lovecraft created and is a direct quote from The Return of Hastur by August Derleth, a friend of Lovecraft.
- It was theorized by some players that Howard might be Francis' father due to their almost identical body shapes and connections to mystical power; but Howard has since been redesigned, and his Rank 1 image no longer bears a strong resemblance to Francis.
- Howard is a fan-inspired cat, suggested by wilcox1232 on the Castle Cats subreddit.[1]
