Promotion[]

Edward can be "promoted" by crafting a special outfit offered on a rotating basis as one of the Monthly Challenges. The outfit is strictly cosmetic and has no special perks or hidden features.

Note: All 15 cats used as materials must be leveled up to level 10 but do not need to be evolved, and all cats and other materials will disappear from the guild when crafting begins.

Trivia[]

Edward is almost certainly based on the character Edward Elric from the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise (see Flailtail).
- They share the same name.
- His description states that he "once had a dream that his brother was a suit of armor," a reference to Elric's brother Alphonse Elric, whose soul was put into a heavy suit of armor when he lost his body.
- Flailtail is a confirmed reference to Alphonse Elric, however he and Edward are not brothers.^[1]
- According to the 2022 Ask-The-Devs-Anything, while his younger brother is much taller than he is, Edward is of "painfully average height", a reference to Elric's height struggle in the referenced franchise.^[2]
Edward's appearance might have been inspired by the character Roxis Rosenkrantz from the JRPG Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis.
Edward is often portrayed in event stories as haplessly taken advantage of by other heroes, especially Pipsqueak, looking to exploit his alchemical skills.
- Francis doesn't know or care to remember Edward's name, repeatedly calling him "Evan" in various event stories.
As seen in the Valentine 2019 Quest, Edward has a crush on Catniss.
In the Spring Festival 2020 Quest, Edward is responsible for magically growing flowers to be used in the gardening competition.
At the end of the Halloween 2020 Quest, Edward questions his suitability as a hero and decides to leave the guild, at least temporarily, to reassess his life.
In the Purrismas 2020 Quest, Edward battles with Nicholas, who is once again trying to ruin Purrismas, and returns to the guild from his self-imposed exile.
- The story also reveals that Edward does not like being called "Eddy".
Edward is a participant in Ember, Catania's version of the dating app Tinder that has appeared in the game during Valentine Events since 2021; his profile reads as follows: Curious cat that loves science and magic. I'm an alchemist. Likes writing and reading. Poetry is fine. Tea is great. Kind of shy, but putting myself out there to work on my confidence… That's it.
Edward's Call of Heroes Hero Outfit was inspired by characters like Beast and the Hulk, as he acquired his superpowers from an "alchemical experiment gone wrong".^[3]
Edward and Catniss officially became a couple in the Valentine 2024 Quest.
