Beans is unlocked through the Daily Rewards at day 13; once unlocked, Beans can be purchased from the Hero Book for 90 gems for purposes of replacing a dismissed cat or obtaining duplicates.

Trivia[]

Given that he writes poetry about coffee, according to his Hero Book description, and that most of his dialog is about coffee, it seems safe to assume that Beans is named after, specifically, coffee beans.
According to the developaws, Beans and Cocoa are friendly rivals.^[2]
Like Berry, Bungee, Cherry, Curio, Hop, Penny, Rudolph, Sandra and Stitch, Beans bounces around the guild hall rather than walking like most other heroes.
Beans' Purrismas outfit was originally a cat, named Catpuccino, entered in the 5th Design a Castle Cats Contest by maddeedraws, but the developaws decided to adapt it as a Hero Outfit for Beans, purchasable for gems using the Armory feature in the Fortress.^[3]
