The Guild is the central concept in Castle Cats, a game in which the player, whose avatar is the guild leader, acts as the manager of the members, resources and activities of a guild of cat heroes. Although there are many ways to enjoy the game, one of its primary objectives is to expand the guild by recruiting heroes and sending them on quests.
Guild Hall[]
The main screen of the game depicts the guild hall and provides players access to most of the game's features, including important gameplay areas and management tools such as those found in the Fortress, the Questboard, the Market, and the Materials and Alchemy stations. At the top of the guild hall screen players can access the Hero Book; see the number of heroes who have been recruited and the amounts of gold and gems the guild has on hand; and open the inventory satchel, which displays a window showing the guild's supply of materials and embers.
Guild Status[]
The Player Profile, as it is called in the Tutorial, serves as a guild status screen and is accessed by tapping on the circular image of the guild leader in the top left corner of the guild hall screen. That image appears on both screens and shows the current level of the guild (or the level of the guild leader; it can be thought of either way) and a progress indicator toward reaching the next level. Tapping the image again on the status screen displays the actual amounts of the guild’s current XP and the total required to reach the next level.
Below that image is a "Story Book" button that allows players to unlock and replay story scenes. At the bottom, the screen shows portraits of the guild's "Current Team", the visible or active cats as selected in the Fortress. On the right, the screen also displays progress toward completing the Main Story Quest, the number of unique heroes collected, the number of quests completed, and the current Reputation levels with the three allied guilds. Finally, the screen has an area for changing the guild leader's current dialog lines, as well as a "Customize" button that opens the Avatar Customization interface for changing the guild leader's name and appearance.
Guild Level[]
The primary measure of a guild's status is its level. Levels are advanced by earning XP from completed quests; there are no other ways for the guild to gain XP in the game. As the guild levels up, various features and opportunities are unlocked. For example, Challenges are unlocked at guild level 6, the Reputation system is not enabled until the guild has reached level 20, and most craftable items are unavailable until the guild has reached specified levels, as detailed on the Alchemy page.
