- While Copper does not seem to be a clear-cut reference to any particular character, her primitive or cold-climate aesthetic, heavy weapon, and red hair suggest various female warrior characters as possible models.
- Astrid Hofferson from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise wears a fur collar, braids and a headband very similar to Copper's.
- Ygritte from Game of Thrones has red hair, wears fur, and once injured a lover who betrayed her, as Copper's Hero Book description says she would do.
- Aloy from the PS4 action-RPG game Horizon Zero Dawn has red hair and clothing reminiscent of pre-industrial society.
